Finding Like Minded Artist's v2

Journal Entry: Sun Apr 6, 2014, 4:39 PM

Creating a Group

First Question:
Who is interested in joining this group?

For those who do not know what this group is about, please read the following paragraph to find out and possibly learn if you want to be a part of a team of artists who are interested in bettering their skills.

The Run Down

This group will be comprised of artists who are interested in working in a team to establish projects and ideas at which they require to complete. We will have a weekly meeting hopefully through a chat room, which I have created, and throw some ideas together to our next project. Artists have to be at least digital or traditional illustrators. You can have other skills but the main point is to create art that we can all be a part of.

Basic formula to the group is:

  1. Come up with a theme for the project
  2. Decide on who does what
  3. Complete your end of the project
  4. Combine our work and post it in the Group

What the group is about?

First of all this group isn't for people who are more than just casual. It's about actually participating. In the end it isn't important on how many there are in this group, but how many serious people are in it. If it's just me and one or two others that is fine. If it just ends up being only me, then at least I know that I couldn't find anyone who can follow my tempo. Also honestly, I don't need to be part of a group of people who don't care for anyone but themselves.

People in this group need to be at least:
  1. Dedicated to their desire to become better artists.
  2. Understand that to receive help you must be willing to give help.
  3. Willing to finish projects that you have helped start with the group.
This is basically a real working group. You can stay with the group for as long as you like, but if you wish to leave permanently or temporarily, at least be willing to finish your end before you do so. That part of this group will be open for artists to join or leave whenever they please. However as we go along, if this group becomes real serious, I will take note of who was more consistent and a team player. We can even use each other as reference for outside jobs if it comes to it. Then once we find those few but serious artists, they can be called official group members. We can close the group off to new comers or just have open sessions where we allow a couple artists to work with us on a project. I'm hoping it will be at least 5 people and possibly no more than 6 including myself.

Ask Questions

If you have any thoughts please share your thoughts. I will try to reply as quickly as I can. Remember that we all do have lives to take care of and it isn't easy to just join or make a group. However I am doing this because I enjoy this aspect of deviantART where I can find other artists to collaborate with. If this is something you think you can enjoy, this group will not have to be like work. It's only work if you don't enjoy it. If you love what you do, then it's not work anymore, it's just something you do that makes you happy.
